BRM/Biomere-Biomedical Research Models

Christian Grant, Ph.D.

Professional Summary:

Dr. Grant is a Research Director at BRM who has 8+ years of experience in virology, molecular biology, and immunology working in the area of autoimmunity, with a focus on type 1 diabetes through our Type 1 Diabetes - Rapid Access to Intervention Development (T1D-Raid) governmental contract, as well as study directing contract research projects. Dr. Grant received his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Microbiology and Immunology in 2004 for his work on regulation of retroviral and cellular gene expression in antigen presenting cells. Prior to BRM, he was a National Institutes of Health National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH/NINDS) postdoctoral fellow, working on several projects including the examination of Transforming Growth Factor-Beta (TGFβ) signaling and regulatory and effector T cell function in patients with human T lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I)-associated myelopathy and patients with multiple sclerosis. Dr. Grant’s research at NIH was funded by a prestigious NINDS Competitive Postdoctoral Fellowship Award.
