BRM has decades of combined experience
in rodent colony management.
Our staff is highly trained and skilled
to meet our client’s needs for custom colony management
solutions.
BRM’s facilities offer desirable
locations for safe, pathogen free barrier housing for
valuable rodent
strains. BRM is an extremely cost effective solution
for companies to house their rodent strains.
By choosing BRM
to maintain their rodent colonies, our clients have
seen reductions in their annual per diem cost as well
as an indirect benefit by freeing up valuable research
space.
Vivarium/Barrier
BRM operates 2 barriers that are
shower in facilities; both are free of all murine pathogens
and specified opportunists. Space is available for mouse
or rat colony housing, conventional and/or ventilated
rack systems are available. Strains my undergo quarantine
procedures, or cesarean rederivation, on site, for introduction
to the facility. Animals are monitored quarterly for
all pathogens.
Isolators
VAF – No murine pathogens
or specified opportunists allowed
BRM
serves as an isolator facility for many functions in
colony management. BRM can serve as a backup colony,
should your colony contract a pathogen at another location.
Colonies can be bred up and shipped out to you or your
collaborators, insuring clean models for your research.
Restricted – No
murine viruses allowed
Colonies may also be maintained at
a dedicated level. If there is a pathogenic organism
that your animals carry, that is of no consequence to
your research, dedicated facilities, or isolators can
maintain the animals at this level.
Quarantine – Any
pathogen allowed
Colony breeding of pathogenic strains
for imperative experiments can be done in our quarantine
facility while the strain is cleaned up, saving you
valuable time.
