Guberski, a geneticist trained at the University of Massachusetts, spent more than 20 years at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center both as a researcher and as an administrator in the Department of Pathology. He founded BRM in 1996 and currently serves as the Principal Investigator on the $4.9 million type 1 diabetes Pre-clinical Testing Program for T1D RAID support contract having previously served as PI on numerous NIH grants including projects elucidating the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes, mapping susceptibility genes for type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis and developing novel models for environmental initiation of autoimmunity. Guberski has raised ~ $5 million in equity and successfully leveraged this investment into more than $18 million in USPHS grants and contracts while driving pre-clinical CRO operations into profitability.
