BRM/Biomere-Biomedical Research Models

Dennis L. Guberski

Professional Summary:

Mr. Guberski, a geneticist, is the founder and CEO of BRM. He spent more than 20 years at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, both as a researcher and as Director of the SPF vivarium in the Department of Pathology, and in the process became an internationally recognized expert on the development and maintenance of specialized research models including a premier system to study diabetic complications. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator on the Type 1 Diabetes Rapid Access to Intervention Development (T1D Raid) government contract having previously served as PI on numerous National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants including projects elucidating the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes, mapping susceptibility genes for type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis and developing novel models for environmental initiation of autoimmunity. Mr. Guberski was selected by NIH to participate in a taskforce to develop a National Genetic Resource Repository for laboratory rats and served as a member of the scientific review board for the NIH Autoimmune Rat Repository in Bethesda, Maryland. He received his MS in Genetics from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA.
