Dr. Nie received her Ph.D. in Immunology and Virology from University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) in 2008. Her Ph.D. thesis was focused on the role of Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) in heterologous immunity between lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) and vaccinia virus. Her post-doctoral training was in the Pathology department at UMMS. She is trained in virology and immunology specializing in performing virus/vaccine induced Tcell-based immunity and immune pathology.
